A metamorphosis is a transformation, a coming into being, and one of the ways people may find their place in the world is through their name. This publication explores the relationship between a person, their identity, and their name. A person may keep one name throughout their entire life, change it when they get married, or change it to better express themselves. Similarly, just as a caterpillar changes into a butterfly when emerging from the cocoon, so might a person change their name as they find themselves and their identity.
This publication was an experiment in concept and abstract imagery. With themes of celebration, identity, and change prevalent in the publication, the use of confetti as imagery and illustration alike tied the themes together.
